About Me and This Endeavor

About Me

Hello, and welcome to The Gaming Facilitator website. My name is Brian Rubin, and boy howdy do I love video games. In 1976, when I was three years old, I was gifted the original Pong home console for Christmas, and I’ve been hooked pretty much ever since. In the late 90s I found my way to video game journalism, which became, for a time, a full-time professional video game journalism career. Getting paid to play video games was a dream come true, but I found that the real joy was in helping people find games they would love to play.

In the intervening years, I’ve continued that message with Space Game Junkie, a site I launched in 2011. Originally meant to look back at the classics of the space game genre, once the genre began to take off again in 2012, I shifted focus once again to helping people find games they’ll love through streaming and my Steam curator page.

I’ve come to realize that one of my greatest talents is bringing people, games, and their developers together. I so love helping people find games I know they’ll love to play, and in turn support the developers who make those games. It’s that talent I hope to showcase here, and in time, bring more people, games, and game developers together in the joy of video gaming.

About this Endeavor

The first goal of this site is to be something of a hub for my ongoing creative works. On the home page you’ll find links that discuss each of my endeavors, then link to separate pages with the RSS feeds of all of my endeavors. The second goal is to be a conduit. I want to work with fans and developers to bring them together, through streaming, communities, marketing and the like, so that the joy of video gaming is ever-present and rewarding for all. It’s my hope that I can, ultimately, help people find games they love, and support developers in the process, and from that support, developers will continue to make games. I do invite you to join me.
